This handcrafted piece, titled Cuan, draws inspiration from the sea. Cuan is the Irish word for “safe harbour” or “shelter,” and the little house at the centre of the piece symbolises the sense of refuge we find in what steadies us, comforts us, and helps us feel safe.

The sea reflects life’s ups and downs, from the healing calm of tranquil waters to the tidal pull and power of stormy seas. A 24 karat gold full moon traces the passage of time, while drops of moonlight glisten on the waves, evoking those glimmers and golden moments that are so precious.

Each element is carefully hand built and finished by hand, giving the piece its character. The textured surface and delicate detailing create a sense of movement and depth. Cuan brings together texture, light, and meaning in a simple and thoughtful way.

Framed in a 26 cm x 26 cm wooden box frame behind glass, this handcrafted piece is unique in every way. As with all handcrafted work, no two pieces are ever exactly the same, giving each one its own character.
